Bozeman is Freakishly warm and it has been for a week and there is no sign of it letting up anytime soon. For lunch I just headed over to the skatepark and skated around in a Tee shirt and was sweating within 15 minutes. Usually buried under a couple of feet of snow, the park is now totally dry. There isn't a cloud in the sky. There are moms at the playground with their kids. There are people are out running in Tee-shirts and shorts. What is going on? The temps should be highs in the single digits right now. Can't really complain too much though.

One mediocre pow photo and some snowboarding.

A pretty eventful weekend went down in the snow department. Saturday we took some snowmobiles out on a mission to find some snowboarding in the Bridgers. There is pretty thin coverage up there but due to the 6 inches that fell that morning and another 5 the day before we found some good stuff in the trees. I snapped one photo that doesn't do it justice. We made one run but it was well worth it.

Sunday we got a babysitter and Jenny and I went up to Bridger Bowl. It was clear skies and about ten degrees with the remnants of the 6 inches that fell from the day before. Jenny got her tele turns a little more dialed in and I managed to get a really good ridge run in. I forgot how fun that place could be. There were plenty of drops and brush ollies to be had.

Brett lives in Kalispell. He owns www.theoriginalpolishhorseshoes.com and it looks to me like he also has something to do with The United States Polish Horseshoe Association. I think he had some spare time on his hands between the winter and summer months.
Happy New Year!

Christmas came and went. It was good but a little too busy running around for a little baby. The Flathead was good. It snowed a ton in town but not so much up in the mountains. Christmas Eve we went up to get a little snowboarding in just outside of Jewel Basin. It was super fun. A little gray and cloudy overhead but once we got up on the ridge the sun was just glimmering of Flathead Lake to the south of us. Julia got all gussied up for Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed tearing into wrapping paper more that the actual Christmas part. I posted a photo of her with her Grandpa Martin. From there I went up and got some snowboarding in at Big Mountain. It was pretty good. Sunny every day surprisingly. It was fun riding with my brother and the rest of the crew that was up for the holidays. Jenny got some shiny new tele skis for Christmas so we went up Night Skiing a couple times to go try them out. To top off the holiday we went up with the Russell fam New Years day and stayed up at Big Mountain for the Night. Played a little Dominos. Got up and headed back home for Bozeman. It was a pretty nice drive. Down the East Shore of Flathead Lake there was about a foot of snow on the ground or more in places and the clouds opened up at sunset for a killer view of the Missions above St. Ignacious.
